Glossary every Titan should know

  • Alt Art — alternate-art version of a card, usually full-bleed illustration; the most coveted modern rarity in Sword & Shield era.
  • SIR / SAR — Special Illustration Rare (EN) / Special Art Rare (JP); the Scarlet & Violet era's top-tier chase.
  • ETB — Elite Trainer Box: 9 packs (EN) plus sleeves, dice and a promo.
  • Booster Bundle — six loose packs in a box; a cheaper rip than an ETB.
  • High Class Pack — Japanese premium set with guaranteed hit structure (Shiny Treasure ex, VSTAR Universe).
  • Pop report — the grader's published count of how many copies exist at each grade.
  • Shadowless — early Base Set printing without a drop shadow on the art frame; see our Journal.
  • Gem Mint — PSA 10 / BGS 9.5+ / CGC 10; the highest standard grades.
  • Weighed packs — loose packs sorted by weight to remove holos; we never weigh.

Protecting your collection

Sleeve every card, top-load anything over $20, use a binder with side-loading pages for sets, and keep slabs and sealed product out of direct sunlight at stable humidity. Insure collections over $5,000 with a rider or specialist policy — your Market Pulse history helps document value.

Next step: join the Titan Club for drop alerts, then browse singles or sealed depending on your lane.
Titan Answers

Questions, answered.

What's the best Pokémon set to start collecting?
Current sets like 151 and Prismatic Evolutions offer iconic artwork and strong availability; vintage Base Set is the classic long-term lane. Start with what you love.
What's the difference between an ETB and a booster box?
An ETB has 9 packs plus accessories; a booster box has 36 packs and the best per-pack price. Compare both in our Sealed Arena.
Should beginners buy singles or packs?
If you want specific cards, singles are far cheaper than chasing them in packs. If you want the experience, packs and live breaks are the fun route.
How should I store graded slabs?
Upright in slab boxes or cases, away from sunlight, at stable room temperature and 40–50% humidity.
